Michael is a 20 year member of Actor’s Equity Association and a 15 year member of SAG-AFTRA, the unions representing Actors in both theatre and film.
Prior to moving to New Orleans, Michael had the pleasure of traveling the country and performing in over 35 productions at many of the nation’s great Regional Theatre’s. In addition to a career in theatre, Michael has worked in television and film, been the face of national brands for commercial campaigns, and even roamed the virtual world of video games working as a voice and motion capture actor.
Michael currently sits on the Local New Orleans Board for SAG-AFTRA, serving as a nationally elected Central Principal Councilor for Actors' Equity Association, and as a member of the New Orleans/Baton Rouge Liaison Committee for AEA.
An advocate for living wages, Michael is a core member of #FairWageOnStage, promoting and negotiating living wages for theatre artists across the country.
As a Parent Artist, Michael is proud to be a part of the Parent Artist Advocacy League as the Chief Rep for the Greater New Orleans market. PAAL's mission statement is, "to empower and advocate for the parent-artist, both employee and freelance, in collaboration with theatre organizations in order to raise awareness of parent artist obstacles in the theatre and create work-life balance interventions, healthy work culture, stable protocols, and accessible pathways to employment."
Michael holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Theatre from Slippery Rock University. As the son of a career Army veteran, Michael’s childhood was spent traveling the world, having been born in Germany and graduated from a Department of Defense school in Berlin, Germany.
